Join Captain Storm and his boat MK Iversen jr. on a proper fishing trip in Vestfjorden. Captain Storm, Børge Iversen, has 48 years of experience as a coastal fisherman, and his fishing trips are very popular.

Sjøstrand lies beautifully in the fishing village Ballstad, in the middle of Lofoten. Encircled by wonderful nature, with sea and mountains on all sides, we are a good starting point for nice day trips in our local environment, as well as west and east in Lofoten.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE AT SEA

Experience the Lofotsea

During the period 15.06 - 30.08 we have daily departures at 14:00, the duration is approximately 3 hours. During times with high demand we arrange more trips, up to three trips daily (usually at 10:00 and 18:00).

NOTE: ATTENDANCE: 15 MIN. BEFORE DEPARTURE

We provide the equipment you need to catch the big fish; fishing equipment like trolling line and fishing rods, as well as Veritas approved life jackets and thermal insulation suits if necessary on cold days.

Børge will help and explain how the equipment is used. We have good facilities for gutting, filleting and packing your fish, and we will be happy to help you with recipies on how to cook it as well!

After a day in the mountains, on the sea or on the go, our guests can use our relaxing hot tub and sauna on the quay. All our cabins, the caravan area and tent area have free WiFi.

About us

In 1991 when we bought the fish receiving company, we immediately started improving the equipment so that we could produce our own catch, so called "self production". Then we started the laborious work of preparing the cabins for rental. By the summer of 1994, we had two cabins for rental. Coastal fishing was prioritized for a couple years, because that's what we do for a living. Renting out cabins was mostly a hobby, but the enjoyment that followed made this a very pleasant additional business, with a lot of value.

Sjøstrand rorbuer has always been and still is a family business. We are focusing on authentic experiences, happy guests and personal service.

Went fishing with Bjørge (i hope i spell it correctly) he was really nice, explaining lofoten fishing seasons, how to catch fishing in the area and such.. he speaks well english also.. we were given a crate full of fish that we caught (totall 3 crates) which we kindly decline due to space.. but he filleted 4 for us to grill at the campsite..

This is a lovely home from home where the owners are extremely helpful. Staying in historic rorbuer with a real fisherman as your host who can show you what the Lofoten once stood for. The location is perfect as a starting point for those who wish to explore the Lofoten archipelago in all directions, thanks to its central position on those islands.
